Audiology Assistant
Kandace’s life has been one big adventure after another. Prior to joining the Utah Ear Institute team, Kandace worked as a manual laborer, a lifeguard, a salesperson, a loan officer, and a foreign exchange student representative.
As our audiology assistant, Kandace’s main responsibility is completing hearing screenings for newborns, and she loves every minute of her job. She also occasionally works with Dr. Luekenga & Dr. Redford, which she also thoroughly enjoys.
When she’s not in the office, spending time with her family is an important part of Kandace’s life – and the biggest adventure of all! She and her husband Troy have been married for 24 years, and they have five children: Mason, 28; Chace, 20; Kyira, 17; Trysten, 14; and Ryker,12.
Kandace enjoys playing games and exploring new destinations with her family – it doesn’t matter where they go or what they do as long as they are together. Kandace also likes spending time outdoors and skydiving.
One of the “most rewarding and difficult experiences” she faced was when, at the age of 21, Kandace served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in southern Spain. She loved speaking Spanish and learning about the cultures that come with the language.
Kandace continues to actively practice her faith and religion, working and playing with the youth. She anticipates the future quite optimistically, saying, “I think our younger generation is amazing and full of promise.”
