Your Hearing Health Matters: Dennis’s Journey at Utah Ear Institute

by | Aug 4, 2025 | Patient Resources, Patient Stories

Dennis, like many individuals approaching their later years, found himself facing the quiet encroachment of hearing loss.

In his early 60s, he noticed the sounds that once filled his life were slowly fading away. This realization set Dennis on a journey of reclaiming the vibrancy of everyday conversations and experiences.

His story is not just about regaining auditory clarity but also about the renewed confidence and quality of life made possible by our dedicated team.

Personalized Care with a Professional Touch

You benefit from our team’s pride in not only our professionalism but also the personal touch brought to every patient interaction. Upon his first visit, Dennis was welcomed by our dedicated team.

“Doctor Luekenga was very pleasant and helpful,” Dennis recalls. “I brought in hearing aids that were given to me by my wife’s brother, and he told me they could be reprogrammed for me. I agreed, and the hearing aids were reprogrammed and fitted on a return appointment.”

Each of our patients is treated like family, and Dennis was no exception. Dr. Josh meticulously reprogrammed the devices, ensuring that they were perfectly matched to Dennis’s auditory profile.

You can rest assured that with any member of our team, you’ll receive personally customized service and meticulous care, no matter what your ears need to succeed.

Celebrating Progress and Achievements

Dennis’s story is a celebration of progress. He can now enjoy conversations without the frustration of asking people to repeat themselves, showcasing the life-changing impact of hearing aids when expertly fitted and programmed.

“I wish I could say my hearing aids restored my hearing to what it was when I was about 40, but with the program I have, I am able to adjust and hear the vast majority of conversations without having to repeat myself,” Dennis enthuses.

It’s these moments of success and transformation that fuel our commitment to continue offering unparalleled care and support to every patient who walks through our doors.

When Was Your Last Hearing Test

Do you know somebody that needs to see this? Why not share it?

Dr. Rachael Redford

Rachael was born in Hawaii. Shortly after, her family moved to Missouri, TX, and when she was five years old, they relocated to Utah. When she was in the 5th grade, they made another move to Farmington, UT (Davis County), where Rachael was living when she graduated from high school (Viewmont). In some ways, Rachael seemed destined to work in health care – it was just a matter of finding the right area to specialize in. While in her early 20s, she became interested in speech-language pathology. When her second daughter had severe articulation issues as a toddler, Rachael was amazed at the progress she made in speech therapy, and Rachael wanted to give the gift of speech to others. However, her interests changed while in college. During her undergraduate studies, Rachael was encouraged to shadow an audiologist. The result? She fell in love with all things hearing related.
