Our Hear for the Holidays giveaway is our favorite time of year – and this year, once again, it brings our community together during the holiday season. This campaign supports someone locally who is struggling with hearing loss. 

Having a hearing loss creates daily challenges, and this time of year can be especially difficult when gathering with loved ones. As always, we’re eager to help those who need it most. 

We received an amazing response to our appeal for nominations, making it no easy task to choose just one winner. After many hours of careful review, we found this year’s winner.  

We’re thrilled to provide them with a complimentary hearing assessment and prescription hearing aids to start their journey to better hearing. These state-of-the-art hearing devices are artificially intelligent and can connect the wearer to just about any appliance, including TVs, theaters, multi-rooms, and so much more. 

And now, without further hesitation, it’s time to meet this year’s winner. 

Meet our Winner, Todd Jordan! 

Todd received nominations from several friends and family members and was described as the type of person who will do anything to help people in need. Said to have a heart of gold, Todd is a generous person who simply loves people. 

After separating from his wife, Todd continued to be a devoted father to her three children, raising them as his own. In 2016, his daughter tragically passed away from an overdose.   

Her death came on the first anniversary of another family loss, making an already difficult time even harder. Todd was already managing depression, anxiety, and the daily challenges of severe hearing loss, but he continued to support his family and the people who depended on him. 

 Todd works in carpentry, and his family describes him as an excellent carpenter, craftsman, and hard worker. They shared how he always unselfishly gives of his time, materials, and talents to fulfill others’ needs ahead of his own. He is ready to help whenever he sees someone in need.   

Todd’s brother, Devon, shared how his brother’s support and skills helped his family when they experienced challenges with their first home. Todd was always willing to help with his tools and materials, ready to make repairs without hesitation. 

Devon noted despite all of Todd’s talents that he struggles significantly with hearing. He told us that hearing aids would make a tremendous difference in his brother’s life and allow him to continue helping others without this helpless barrier. 

Todd’s mother, Kathy, shared that Todd is the most honest, forthright person she knows and added that he would benefit so much from the gift of hearing. 
 
Our team was moved by Todd’s story and how he continues to support those around him. We feel fortunate to help him improve his hearing so he can keep caring for his family, help others, and do the work he loves.

Each and every nomination added a special human touch to our work and reminded us that every patient has a unique story to tell. It makes us proud of what we do and reinforces the care and commitment we have for supporting our community. 

Helping people hear better means they can stay connected, support those around them, and continue playing an important role in their community.
