Originally Deuel Settlement, and later Cherry Creek after the Cherry family, the first settler in Centerville, UT was Thomas Grover (1847), but due to its precise location between Bountiful and Farmington, its current name stuck. Early economic enterprises centered around farming and grist mills that made molasses from corn stalks, while the arrival of the Central Utah Railroad provided a significant boost to its growth.
Parrish Lane, one of the most heavily traveled routes of Davis County, runs east and west through Centerville, connecting I-15 to SR-106 and later to the newly constructed Legacy Parkway in 2008. Most of the commercial economic activity in the community is located along this major thoroughfare as well as along SR-106, where many small business enterprises and white coat/white collar businesses are located.
