Hear for the Holidays is our annual giveaway to grant deserving people in our community the gift of better hearing.
The holidays are a time for gathering with loved ones and enjoying each other’s company; for those with hearing challenges, this can be an overwhelming or isolating time if they cannot hear the people they love with full clarity.
That’s why each year we put on this giveaway to help some deserving people with their hearing healthcare, offering a complimentary hearing assessment and prescription hearing aids to fit their unique hearing needs.
We received so many incredible nominations and, as always, it was hard to narrow it down to just two winners.
Our Winners Are Doug Farley and Evelyn Bronson!
Doug broke a record for our team—he had the most nominations we’ve seen since we began Hear for the Holidays! He’s a hardworking father, devoted husband, and loving son, according to the emails we got from his family—and his neighbors love him for the house and yard work he’s the first to volunteer to help with.
Doug’s nominations told stories of him helping repair home siding and fascia to help his neighbors, as well as stories from his church about volunteering for camping trips with the youth and guiding people to become better disciples of Christ.
He’s a dedicated coach for football and baseball, and his children’s teams are blessed with his unwavering devotion for building a love of sports, not just winning.
Mothers and fathers of these athletes he coaches emailed us to tell us he deserves all things good—and we had to agree.
We felt it a privilege to help with his hearing. He’s a community builder and we love people who lift where they stand!
Evelyn blessed the lives of her children and continues to do so. Evelyn has an unfortunate disease that is taking her life rather quickly by shutting down her vital organs. She’s also on oxygen to keep air in her lungs and her bloodstream.
Her children adore her and told us all about a woman who does it all: She worked hard as they were growing up to allow her kids to have normal lives, setting an example of what hard work looks like that they carry with them to this day.
She’s a God-fearing woman who gave her all for her family, and she wants to be as active as she can be despite the setbacks. Hearing is something she needs so she can enjoy the remainder of her life, her kids told us, and Evelyn yearns to hear their ideas and thoughts.
What an honor it is to be able to help Evelyn connect with her children and her friends at this time in her life. We only wish we could have helped sooner—she is the epitome of a builder.
